I am writing this to let people who followed me on my CDT hike and on my ebike ride around Vermont know that I am working on getting up and running on my own site. To those who don’t know me I want to introduce myself. I am a soon to be 65 year old woman. Two years ago my not yet ex husband walked out on me without a word that he was leaving. Since then we have been embroiled in a nasty divorce which has pushed me back into places of severe childhood trauma. This has reactivated my post traumatic stress, which for me comes with dissociation.
As a way to heal I have embarked on a number of outdoor adventures, writing about these and my inner healing journey along the way. Writing has been for me an additional way to promote inner healing. I hope my writing can be helpful to others. I very much appreciate those who read what I write. For me it serves as a form of human connection. Without you my writing would have much less meaning for me.
As a short update now I will tell you that since completing the bike ride in November I have skied the entire 300 plus mile Catamount Trail. This is the longest cross country ski trail in the country and runs the length of Vermont. I will post some writing about it at a later date. And since I have now hiked, biked and skied the length of Vermont, my hope is to paddle the length this summer. I would also love to swim it, but that would take a LOT more planning.
I will post blogs as I can. I am currently working on finishing up some edits on my first book so it can be sent out for publication. That, getting my old blogs moved onto this site, and planning for my paddle trip which I hope to begin in mid June will hinder too many new ones for now, though I will aim for at least one per week.
Once I figure out how to set it up, you can sign up for notifications when a new blog is posted. I welcome comments, even if you disagree with what I write. But please be respectful. And if there are topics you want me to write about please let me know and I will see what I can do.
Thanks for reading and sharing this time with me.
